This kind of helmet was very popular not only with the Slavic tribes
but also with the Rus, the Varangian and the Khazars.
The helmet is made of 2 mm thick overlapping sheet plates and riveted.
This is a very robust construction. The helmet is fully battle-ready.
In early medieval horsehair has been attached to the helmet peak.
That’s why the hood has a hole.
5 loops are attached to the lower helmet edges to fix a mail shirt.
A high-class and adjustable leather liner with chin straps is included.
