LARP Weaponry

The LARP or ReV weapons are built with a fiberglass or carbon fiber core, a high density foam coating, and finally painted with a protective patina. Perfect for use in Softcombat due to its safe construction, the recreation of these historical and fantasy weapons has been improving in the different versions, reaching a very high level of authenticity that make them spectacular recreations of medieval weapons. We find medieval swords with blades that seem to be made of steel, medieval maces with almost identical recreations of the famous Morningstar or Morningstar, or the famous Warhammer. In this section you will also find throwing weapons whose main difference, apart from their smaller dimensions, is the absence of a hard core formed by a rod. To be safer, these replicas of medieval throwing weapons are usually more flexible and much lighter. Swords with steel, old gold or copper finish, painted by brands such as Epic Armoury, Battlestandard de Mytholon, Wyvern, Freyhand and Calimacil among others, achieve a very realistic finish, to help the user to a total immersion when using them in combat.

In this section you will also find historical steel armory, both for training and decoration. As well as weapons made in rubber for those warriors who train in the practice of fencing and medieval combat.
  • Swords
    Swords

One-handed swords, all those that are not wielded with two hands or one and a half hands or that are not short swords. Swords have always been noble weapons, made to face in a versatile way the different challenges faced by their user. Thanks to their long edge, both single-edged and double-edged, they are the necessary answer to face maces, spears, axes and other weapons. They dominated the Middle Ages, turning the medieval sword into a total weapon to which warriors devoted years of training and dedication. Medieval swords forged for times in which literature came to combine with the epic to create its own myths around this unique weapon. In larp, softcombat, live role-playing and medieval fighting, they are a tool very frequently chosen by their users. Made of different types of foam or rubber, and in all its variants finished with a fiberglass core, or at least it is the most commonly used material, although currently new materials are beginning to be used to ensure its durability.

The foam sword is usually coated with a protective material that ensures the durability of the product as well as the resistance of the painting, usually latex is used, although most developers use new materials free of latex, due to its better performance. The guards of medieval or fantasy swords are usually made of the same material, although nowadays bicomponents such as polyurethane are used.

  • Two Handed Swords
    Two Handed Swords

Two-handed swords, are wielded as the name suggests in two hands or hand and a half which are commonly called Bastard Swords. These are usually large swords to dominate the terrain, keep your opponent away and overtake the enemy. The shorter two-handed swords such as the bastard, are designed to use a unique and pure style, able to circumvent the opponent's defenses with the skill of training, pivoting around him, weaving a web with a deadly dance to end up delivering the final blow. They dominated the Middle Ages, turning the medieval two-handed sword into a total weapon to which warriors devoted years of training and dedication. • Spears & Pole Weapons
    Spears & Pole Weapons

The spear armed armies from antiquity to medieval times. Using very little iron, its balance between cost and combat capability has always been excellent. In this section we will find from staffs, medieval halberds and medieval spears, as well as more exotic weapons from the East. The staff in LARP we find it as a weapon of monks or characters who play peasants, it could also be used in a recurrent way for a thief or rogue who was specialized in two-handed weapons. The medieval staff, or rather the staff in the Middle Ages, was frequently found in pilgrims and merchants. The medieval spears can be differentiated from the spears of antiquity in that the latter begin to be longer and are often used in many cases with both hands. There are fantasy worlds around this emblematic weapon such as the Dragonlance book saga in which a spear forged on a special mount allowed riders to face the evil chromatic dragons. halberds are the weapon of the guard, the most elegant weapons of this segment, very popular in events such as Drachenfest in Germany where entire regiments armed only with this weapon keep at bay numerically far superior enemies. Historically we have the Landskenecht mercenary troops who were equipped with halberds when they went into battle dressed in bright colors.

These weapons made of foam and with a core of fiberglass or carbon fiber, are usually coated with a protective product against abrasion and wear, allowing these LARP weapons to last much longer in time.

  • Shields
    Shields

The LARP shields are a faithful recreation of medieval shields, high medieval shields and ancient shields. Tower shields, round shields typical of the Viking culture where they used a defensive structure similar to the tortoise formation. Shields in vertex perfect for individual combat due to the distribution of its weight or the Norman shields in teardrop that were so popular along with the long spear. Shields in softcombat are an eminently parrying tool that tries to dispense with combat elements such as ramming or striking, but that remains equally effective in close combat. A LARP shield has the virtue of forcing the adversary to advance by blocking his projectile weapons. So it can be concluded that the shield in live role-playing is a useful tool and that apart from realistically complementing a costume, it is an effective element during simulated combat. Currently there are shields that realistically imitate wood, giving the shields a realistic finish.

Shields are mainly made of Foam, a special foam used to manufacture them, which is somewhat more compact. A grip that is usually firmly attached to the shield body, and many of them include straps to hold the forearm. The shields are coated with a patina to protect the paint.

  • Bows
    Bows

The bows and crossbows for LARP and recreation, are prepared and manufactured to be safe, controlling their power by combining them with safety arrows, which pass rigorous quality controls to ensure their safe use. All bows usually have a controlled power that ranges between 24 and 30 pounds of power. In the case of crossbows this number is usually higher, reaching 50 or 60 pounds of power, so it is recommended to shoot more arched and at a greater distance, but being equally safe, far away from the values of the real bows and crossbows. The medieval bow is designed so that the arrow performs a stable flight of about 20 or 30 meters. The medieval bow and bows of antiquity were widely used by both infantry and cavalry. The traditional recurve bow that we can see in many movies and TV series is the perfect replica of the bows used by all archers since its appearance, as well as the long curved bow very popular by the English infantry and that managed to stop the armored infantry in medieval Europe. We find in many role-playing games the figure of the archer, scout or ranger, a character with tracking skills and great skill with the bow. Emblematic figures such as Legolas in Lord of the Rings, Robin Hood, Shorsha in Willow or The Scorpion King have been renowned archers who have visited us in the movies. And in history we find the powerful figure of the aforementioned English archer or the Scythian who on the back of his horse achieved prodigious shots. Also in Japanese and Chinese popular culture the bow is part of a ritual in which the years of improvement managed to fuse the archer with this powerful tool.
Bows are usually made of wood or fiberglass covered with leather, as well as other flexible materials, some manufacturers develop carbon rods covered with rubber to give a more comfortable grip and an original and also very economical finish. The arrows composed of carbon shafts and a composite head that can be made of rubber or foam, usually have colored nibs and the body in various types of finish, from luminescent arrows, arrows in wood finish, white arrows or arrows with black body.

  • LARP Modern Arsenal
    LARP Modern Arsenal

As part of a costume both current and futuristic, energy weapons, or post-apocalyptic tools created from scrap metal, are the perfect complement to give credibility and attractiveness to the whole. These weapons with mechanical servos of all kinds, energy piles or assembling bearings and duct tape, are designed in the same way as LARP weapons, with a base created from a fiber core and covered with safety foam. Some elements such as our hand grenade, the brick or throwing objects of this type, usually do not have this fiber core and are completely made of foam or safety foam. To protect the careful painting that is applied on these futuristic weapons, a protective patina is applied.

We can find examples of lightsabers inspired by movies like Star Wars, Energy Hammers similar to those used in the popular game Warhammer 40k.

  • Atrezzo Firearms
    Atrezzo Firearms

Props guns, historically inspired, we find pirate guns, wild west guns, WWI and WWII WWI guns, modern guns for cinema and theater. Many of them can be used with primers, creating a small sound and smoke effect. The double barrel or single barrel pirate pistols are the most used models by live role players, without neglecting exotic models such as the pepperbox, or the seven-barrelled muskets. We also find pirate pistols with 3 swivel barrels, and small pistols more typical of the Wild West, such as the Derringer. In our collection there are revolvers like the Colt Navy, the Peacemaker, Scoffild or Widowmaker. Created in metal, wood and some with resin grips. The revolvers usually include the bullets in the price.
